How do I setup my DAP 1360 range extender?

DAP 1360 Wi-Fi range extender which is used to increase the range of wireless network. It is used to expand your wireless network for getting ultimate performance. DAP 1360 Wi-Fi range extender provides 450 Mbps on 2.4 GHz +1300 Mbps on 5 GHz and total speed it will provide approximately 1750 Mbps Wi-Fi speed. This wireless range extender comes with three external antennas which are used to enhance wireless range of the router. Those three antennas are adjustable which means you can adjust those antennas as per your network choices.

Step by step solution for Setup DAP 1360 Wireless Extender:

  • First you need to obtain your default gateway 
  • Thereafter you need to open any installed web browser which might be google chrome, internet explorer, Mozilla firefox etc
  • Now you need to enter default gateway address in the address bar of the installed browser and default gateway address is http://dlinkapp and thereafter press enter.
  • On pressing login button, you will get another window where you are asked to click on the launch setup wizard button to configure your access point and you have to click on it.
  • Now you need to click on next to proceed continue where you will get prompt message like this wizard is designed to assist you in wireless network setup. It will guide you through step by step instructions on how to set it up your wireless network and how to make it secure.
  • Thereafter you need to select repeater from the drop down list as shown below in the wireless mode section
  • Thereafter select manual configuration of setup your network manually and click on the next button. In the configuration method, you will see two options which are WPS(select this option if you want to use Wi-Fi protected setup) or use manual( select this option if you want to setup your network manually)
  • Thereafter you can found your router form the list and click on the radio button in the right column and click on the connect button
  • Thereafter choose which security mode you want to use and click on the next button to continue. There are three types of security mode which are none, WEP,  auto(WPA or WPA2)
  • If you select WEP then choose the key type (ASCII or  HEX) and the key size is (64 and 128 bit) and enter the wireless security password and click next to complete the setup wizard
  • If you select WPA2, you have to enter your wireless security password and click on next to complete the setup wizard.
  • If you select auto option, enter wireless security password and click on next to complete the setup wizard
  • Now the wireless setup wizard is complete. You have to click on the finish button to reboot your device.

Process to obtain default gateway:

  • First click the window start button
  • Now open the start menu and type cmd in the search box and thereafter open cmd.exe
  • On the command prompt, you have to type ipconfig command and press enter key
  • On pressing enter button, you will get enough information related with your IP address, default gateway

Note: For setting up this DAP 1360 Wi-Fi range, you router will need to be turn on and wireless on the access point needs to be preconfigured. For this, you need to disconnect the Ethernet cable from the router and connect it with your D-Link dap -1360 range extender for the setting it up.
